This month marks one year since Family Trust Federal Credit Union opened its doors in Greenville, South Carolina. It has been an exciting year of growth, learning, and meaningful connections as we became part of this vibrant Upstate community.
Over the past year, our Greenville branch has helped members work toward their financial goals while also supporting local nonprofits, events, and initiatives that strengthen the community. From volunteer projects to community celebrations, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve Greenville.
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue building relationships, expanding our impact, and helping more members achieve financial success. Here are a few highlights from our first year in Greenville.
Greenville Grand Opening

Family Trust celebrated the grand opening of our first Greenville branch at 1800 Laurens Road, welcoming community members, partners, and local leaders to mark the occasion.
To celebrate our arrival in the Upstate, we partnered with Harvest Hope, South Carolina’s largest food bank, to collect donations and support neighbors facing food insecurity. Giving back is a core part of who we are, and we were proud to begin our Greenville journey by supporting an organization making a difference across the state.
Throughout the week, we hosted activities to welcome the community. Guests enjoyed free breakfast, families participated in Explorer’s Day with fun prizes, and parents opened youth accounts to help their children begin building strong financial habits. The week concluded with a ribbon cutting celebration that officially welcomed Family Trust to Greenville.

Family Trust Charity Golf Tournament
The Family Trust Charity Golf Tournament brought together sponsors, volunteers, and community partners for a day of golf and giving. Thanks to the support of everyone involved, the event raised more than $45,000 for organizations making a meaningful impact in our communities.
Two Greenville organizations, YouthBase and Changing Your Mind Ministries, received funding as part of Family Trust’s commitment to reinvesting in the communities we serve.
We are grateful to every sponsor, participant, and volunteer who helped make this event a success. Their support allows us to continue investing in organizations that strengthen the Upstate.
Red Shoe Society Plane Pull

Family Trust employees participated in the Red Shoe Society Plane Pull, a unique fundraising event benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas.
Teams from across the community worked together to pull a full-sized airplane across the runway, raising funds to support families with children receiving medical care. The event brought together local businesses and volunteers for a fun and meaningful day of giving back.
Threads of Community Mural Unveiling

In partnership with the Greenville Center for Creative Arts, Family Trust unveiled a mural titled "Threads of Community" at our Greenville branch.
The mural highlights elements of South Carolina’s identity including the Carolina Wren, the Reedy River, and the textile history that shaped both Greenville and our hometown of Rock Hill. The project was created by local artists Alexander Rouse, RaAmen Stallings, Orlando Corona, Bella Bishara, and Faith Hudgens.
Community members are invited to visit our Greenville branch at 1800 Laurens Road to see the mural in person.
Greenville Habitat for Humanity Build
Family Trust employees volunteer during the Habitat for Humanity Greenville Credit Union Build supporting affordable housing in the Upstate.
Family Trust joined fellow credit unions across the Upstate to support the 2026 Credit Union Build in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County.
The annual project brings credit unions together to help fund and build a home for a Greenville family. Family Trust employees and leadership participated in kickoff activities and will volunteer throughout the construction process.
By supporting initiatives like the Credit Union Build, Family Trust helps expand access to affordable housing while strengthening the Greenville community.

The event provided an opportunity to connect with local organizations and celebrate the continued growth of Greenville. As Family Trust continues to expand in the Upstate, we look forward to building partnerships that support economic growth and community development.
