Your contributions help our neighbors

Grabbing a candy bar in our branches helps more than your sweet tooth. Proceeds from the sale of the candy, stuffed animals and coupon books will benefit four charities in York County. And you play the biggest role.

“Every dollar members spend on candy or a stuffed animal supports the community – and that’s what a credit union is all about,” said Sula Pettibon, chair of the Fundraising Committee. “We’re working together to help our neighbors.”

This year, recipients are:

Worthy Boys and Girls Camp in Rock Hill, staffed by the Rock Hill Police Department who teach 150 children about nature and how to give back to the community during the weeklong, residential experience.

Adult Enrichment Center in Fort Mill, which provides daily services to more than 70 clients – mostly senior citizens and some young adults.

Tender Hearts Community Outreach in York that provides food and clothing to struggling families or individuals.

RideAbility Therapeutic Riding Center in Clover that offers year-round horseback riding lessons for disabled and special-needs adults, young adults and children.

Last year, you helped us raise $12,000 for four charities that received $3,000 each. That’s in addition to the $30,000 we raised during our annual golf tournament for the Children’s Attention Home, The Palmetto School at the Children’s Attention Home, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of York County.

Let’s do it again in 2014. Thank you for your support.
