Two scholarships available for college

With educational costs continuously on the rise, extra money to pay for college can go a long way in helping you get off to a good start financially. Family Trust is offering two opportunities for students to earn money for college.

Our 5th annual Elements of Money Tweet for College Scholarship is underway, and high school junior and senior students can win up to $1,250 when they tweet their answer to the question: “How are credit unions like superheroes?”

There are four rounds through March 11; one winner will receive $250 in each. An overall winner will be selected from the four winners and will earn $1,000. Applicants must be a member of our Elements of Money teen checking program.

Our $1,000 Eddie Reeves Community Commitment Scholarship is also available for one student who is a model leader in serving his/her community. This scholarship is open to high school, college and graduate students pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.

Applicants will answer the following question in a brief essay: “How has giving your time to the community impacted you?”
Applicants will also need to individuals to provide recommendations. Deadline to enter is March 8.
