Candidates for three director seats announced


Candidates for three open seats for the Board of Directors will be elected by acclamation at the 2017 Annual Meeting on March 28 at the First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill.

Board members are volunteers and serve two-year terms. They meet monthly with management and are responsible for general oversight of the credit union and for setting policy. Candidates are:

Chris Ruh: Mr. Ruh of Rock Hill is executive vice president of sales and compliance at Williams & Fudge, where he has worked 18 years. He is a volunteer and board member for the Boy Scouts of America Palmetto Council, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (SCICU). A Family Trust member since 1987, he is an associate director and previously served on the Nominating Committee.

Ron Russell: Mr. Russell of Rock Hill, is retired from York County Natural Gas and active with Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Boy Scouts of America, Project Hope, Showtime Theatre Company and the “4 Chordsmen” barbershop quartet. A Family Trust member 26 years, he has served 12 years on the board and is currently 1st Vice Chairman. He previously served on the Supervisory Committee.

Tim Smoak: Mr. Smoak of Rock Hill is vice president of business development at Comporium, and recently obtained certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute. He is a long-standing member of the Comporium Pioneers, an employee-based volunteer organization that supports a variety of charitable causes. Mr. Smoak taught economics as a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma and was an adjunct professor at York Technical College. He has been a member of Family Trust 15 years.

No nominations were received via petition. Doors at the Annual Meeting open at 5:30 p.m. with the business meeting beginning at 6:30.
