Progress is happening fast at our new Family Trust Center in Knowledge Park on West White Street. And we’re excited to announce that Gabriela Talkington will serve as branch manager when the building opens in late summer. Victoria Lackey, who served at the branch before it closed for construction, will return as assistant manager.
“I’m excited that the credit union is going back to our roots where everything got started. It’s a new beginning, and I’m honored to lead the team. It will be wonderful to see our White Street members again,” said Gabriela. “This branch will offer the same great service in a new, open environment.”
Marieta Moore will replace Talkington as manager of the branch on Dave Lyle. Josh Nyegaard, assistant manager at the branch on Ebenezer Road, will serve as assistant branch manager on Dave Lyle.
The new 36,000-square-foot headquarters will bring the heart of the credit union back to its roots. Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. (also known as the Bleachery) was the home of the first credit union branch.
The building will include a full-service branch, Family Trust Investment Service office, and administrative offices. A community room will provide a place for local gatherings and educational workshops.
Art work created by Winthrop University students will be displayed throughout the building. Each art piece uniquely represents the history of the credit union.
The three-story building is among the first constructed in the Knowledge Park, an area being redeveloped for jobs, housing and retail between Winthrop University and downtown.
