Grants for Hardworking Teachers

Are you a teacher that could benefit from $500 for your classroom? You have until Nov. 13 to apply for your part of the $10,000 in Family Trust Teacher Grants that will be distributed in 2018. Like last year, we’ll give twenty $500 grants for individual and collaborative projects.

  • Individual Grants: Any Family Trust member who is a public, private or home school educator.
  • Collaborative Grants: One member of the team must be a Family Trust member, and all teammates are either a public, private or home school educator.

These grants can be used for any number of classroom projects. Past grants have helped students learn about everything from feeding the hungry, to tracking weather patterns, to ukuleles for fourth graders, and an Ellis Island immigration simulation for fifth graders.

Lauren Johns and Alice Browder, teachers at Westminster Catawba Christian School, received a grant to create a mud kitchen that helps kindergartners learn through imaginary play. “It was a huge blessing for us,” she said. “The grant helped us do something that had been a dream for a while.”
