Ninety minutes and a track hoe were all it took Tuesday to tear down our branch on White Street. The branch, built in 1967, makes way for our new headquarters expected to open sometime in 2015.
Next step is preparing the site for the three-story headquarters that will include administration and other offices, a full-service branch, community room, and Family Trust Investment Services. The glass and brick design blends the architecture of textile mills with the high-tech feel of the future.
The building is among the first to be constructed in the Knowledge Park, an area between Winthrop University and downtown Rock Hill being redeveloped with industry, restaurants, retail and housing.
J.M. Cope Construction is building the facility. Watch a video.
