Gardner receives Come-See-Me award

Lee Gardner, Family Trust President & CEO, was among seven people who received the Come-See-Me Festival’s Community Service Merit award at its annual kick-off breakfast today at the Rock Hill County Club. He was nominated for his work with the Rock Hill School District Foundation Board.


Gardner’s nomination noted his contribution to children in the area:


“Lee Gardner is an incredible community leader who positively impacts, imparts, and improves the lives of many others throughout our community. As CEO of Family Trust Federal Credit Union, Mr. Gardner has successfully built his career on relationships, with the support of the community, and establishing trust. Lee is a very caring and strong servant leader who has invested his tremendous leadership in many local organizations including The Rock Hill School District Foundation Board of Directors, Westminster Presbyterian Church, serves as a Basketball Coach for numerous teams, mentored youth, and up and coming young professionals. Lee also serves as an Ambassador on the #1 Question, Is it Good for Children Coalition where he passionately facilitates community conversations amongst area leaders about causes that impact the lives of our precious children. Lee faithfully served our Education Foundation for more than 10 years as an investor, advisor, and led strategic transformation of the organization. Lee is an invaluable asset, well deserving of this precious distinction. Our community is blessed to have him serving as a leader. He builds character and makes us all stronger.”


This is the 12th year the Community Service Merit awards have been given as part of the 10-day festival, which runs this year from April 3-12. The award recognizes individuals who are dedicated to serving the York County community.


Winners received a crystal award and will ride in the Come See Me parade on Thursday, April 3rd.


Other Come-See-Me events include a Beach Bash, Gourmet Gardens, Jazz Festival, half marathon and a variety of activities for children. Family Trust will sponsor the Healthy Kids Zone on April 12, 10-1pm at the Giordana Velodrome and the Skydiving Exhibition later that day at 6:45pm at Winthrop Lake.
