Free retirement planning workshops

We dream of the day when we can retire and travel, golf, and spend more time with family. Managing money is a critical part of the retirement “how-to.” Without careful planning, there are many mistakes that can cause retirement woes.

Family Trust is excited to announce its Free “Know Your Dough: Living In Retirement” workshop series beginning Tuesday, Sept. 9 with our first session on estate planning. This series offers valuable information for multiple generations, especially those with aging parents.

This four-month series will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex.

At the first session, Mitchell Payne, estate planning and elder law attorney will answer these questions:

• Why should I appoint a power of attorney? What rights does a power of attorney give?
• What happens if I pass away without a Will?
• How can I prepare my affairs in case I become incapacitated?
• How do I plan for long term care needs?

Additional series speakers will include Matt Griffin, Family Trust Investment Services consultant, who will facilitate the “Budgeting into Retirement” session and Audrey Burton, claims representative with Social Security Administration, who will present the “Transitioning into Medicare” session.

Participants will be entered to win prizes at each workshop. Handouts will be provided. Register here.
