Four candidates for Board of Directors

Four candidates have been presented by the Nominating Committee for three seats on the Board of Directors. The election will be conducted through online voting or by paper ballots with winners announced at the annual meeting March 24 at the Baxter Hood Center in Rock Hill.

Board members are volunteers and serve two-year terms. They meet monthly with management and are responsible for general oversight of the credit union and for setting policy. Nominees for election to the Board of Directors in 2015 are:

Erika Bell: Mrs. Bell of Rock Hill is membership and marketing director for the Upper Palmetto YMCA’s 10 branches. A member 18 years, she is chair of the Family Trust Supervisory Committee.

Elizabeth “Ann” Reid: Mrs. Reid of Rock Hill is retired from Clinton Junior College and the Rock Hill School District, where she serves on the school board. She is co-chair of the Business Advisory Committee. A Family Trust member 32 years and a board member almost 20 years, she previously served on the Supervisory Committee.

Chris Ruh: Mr. Ruh of Rock Hill is executive vice president of sales and compliance at Williams &Fudge, where he has worked 16 years. A Family Trust member five years, he is an Associate Director and previously served on the Nominating Committee.

Ron Russell: Mr. Russell of Rock Hill retired from York County Natural Gas and serves as 1st Vice-Chairman on the Family Trust board. A member 24 years, he has served on the board 10 years and previously served on the Supervisory Committee.

In accordance with credit union bylaws, a member may seek nomination by petition provided that (1) they have a signed petition from 1% of the membership (470) signatures; and (2) the nominee must provide a biographical sketch and statement of their willingness to accept the nomination and serve if elected.

The final day to submit nominations by petition is February 9, 2015. These must be submitted to Board Secretary, Beverly Ellis.

Ballots will be available online from Feb. 23 to March 18. Members without computer access can request a paper ballot at a branch or call 803-367-4100. Members also can vote online at a branch computer kiosk.

Please note there will be no voting at the annual meeting.
