Family Trust was among 70-plus individuals and businesses honored Wednesday for contributions to the Rock Hill School District’s 29 schools and Parent Smart.
We received an Outstanding Business award at a lunch at Events at Manchester for our ongoing support of Oakdale Elementary School.
“Family Trust … provides school supplies for students in need, teaches banking lessons, tutors children, provides prizes for special events like Red Ribbon Week, and sends treats in to the teachers’ lounge from time to time,” according to the nomination. “They also sponsor grants for teachers throughout our community that many of our teachers have benefitted from.”
The award from district administrators went to Claude Burns of Burns Chevrolet for books purchased for high school seniors, and to the Boys and Girls Clubs of York County and the York County Solicitors Office that worked together to create an after-school teen center at the Flexible Learning Center.
