Teaching kids about money at an early age can create good, life-long financial habits. Breanna Semone may only be 9 but she knows how to save, thanks to her mom.
“I have three daughters and they all have a savings account,” said Dana Semone. “They’ve learned that when you save for things, you appreciate it more.”
Like Dana, we want to help kids 12 and under learn to save, and will devote Sept. 8-19 to make it easy for you.
Open an Explorer’s Club certificate or savings account or deposit at least $25 into an existing account during that time, and you’ll receive a free family pass to the Museum or York County, the Children’s Museum or Historic Brattonsville. You can visit any branch. Or stop by our Clover and Dave Lyle branches until 7 p.m. Sept. 16th and we’ll entertain the kids while you’re there. Don’t forget their Social Security number.
Parents, we’ve got a prize for you too. During the two-week celebration, tell us on Facebook how your child saves and you’ll be entered to win “Parents’ Night Out” gift certificate.
