Why do you want to serve on the Family Trust Board of Directors?
I would like to continue to represent the constituents I serve as we transition into a new era. I am easily accessible and feel I make a difference to older members who may not have access to email or a computer. As an older member myself, I understand firsthand the challenges this demographic may experience.
In your opinion, what are the top three issues facing the financial industry and why.
In my opinion the top issues facing the financial industry today are: a. security breaches b. expanding technology c. change.
Technology is quickly changing the financial industry, with cell phones being used more often for banking. As a board member, I want to be a bridge between those members who are computer savvy and those who are not so everyone is served.
What else would you like for members to know about you?
I received an undergraduate degree in biology from Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C., and a master’s degree in teacher from Winthrop University in 1974. I have made a habit of keeping my education current and earned graduate credit from the National Institute of Health and attended the University of Alabama.
Family Trust has played a big role in my life as I’ve saved and managed my finances. I am a better person because of the credit union and I am truly grateful for that. With your help I am willing to continue to be accessible and will do my best to represent all members of Family Trust.
