Contest winner ready to move on up

Tressa Waters of Rock Hill has always rented an apartment but may take that first step toward home ownership now that’s she’s won $500 from our Movin’ On Up contest.

“I would love a three-bedroom in a nice quiet, neighborhood,” said Tressa, a human resource assistant at Williams & Fudge who plans to save her winnings. “I’m pretty excited. I can’t believe I won something.”

Almost 700 people participated in the contest, held through June. Participants were asked to fill out a survey indicating where they were in the home-buying process. Not only did it help us tell folks about our Mortgage Service Center, but the contest helped learn what is needed to buy a house and how to get ready.

Buying a house can be scary, Tressa said, adding she learned through the contest how the Mortgage Service Center can help.

“I have a lot of friends who own homes. They love it,” she said. “It’s nice to say it’s yours.”
