The holidays are a great time to thank our members for helping us help our neighbors in 2016.
Members set the pace by buying children’s books, candy and coupon books in our branches. We’re on track to raise $11,000, with proceeds benefitting the Early Learning Partnership York, Adult Enrichment Center in Fort Mill and Rideability in Clover.
Employees also collected food for Project Hope and other agencies, and provided school supplies across the county. They donated to Louisiana relief efforts, and distributed care packages to the homeless. They built houses for Habitat for Humanity, rang bells for the Salvation Army, and are collecting toys for needy children.
We raised $30,000 through our annual golf tournament for Safe Passage for abused women, the Palmetto School at the Children’s Attention Home, and the SC Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
That’s in addition to the $120,000 Family Trust makes in corporate donations to provide teacher grants and scholarships and to support over 90 non-profit agencies, schools, fundraisers and community events.
“It’s hard to put in words how my heart feels when I help others,” said Winnie Kennedy, a member of the Employee Fundraising Committee. “We are so blessed and need to share those blessings with others. It makes my heart happy.”
Credit unions care about their communities. We couldn’t do it without you.
