It may be summer but teachers who want to get started on the 2017-18 school year can get their application in now for a Family Trust Teacher Grant.
Family Trust has offered grants to educators for more than 10 years to help teachers create exciting lessons for their students. The grants have helped students learn about everything from feeding the hungry and tracking the weather to ukuleles for fourth graders and an Ellis Island immigration simulation for fifth graders.
Like last year, we’ll give twenty $500 grants for individual and collaborative projects. Only online applications will be accepted. The deadline is Monday, Nov. 13.
Grants are available to public, private or home school educators who are Family Trust members. Teachers who want to team up for a grant are welcome to do so provided one teacher within the group is a Family Trust member.
Grants are scored by area teachers. Winners will be announced in January and honored at a banquet. Family Trust has awarded more than $100,000 to over 350 educators since the program began.
