Open Your Eyes To A Credit Union
Do you care about your financial future? Then it’s time to ditch your bank and join a credit union. That’s the message of the Open Your Eyes To a Credit Union® campaign from the Credit Union National Association. Many people know that credit unions are member-owned and offer better rates and services than other financial organizations. Many Americans are new to the credit union movement and may not know if they can join or if they offer all the same products or services. It’s time to bust some credit union myths.
Myth 1: “I Can’t Join a Credit Union.”
Membership requirements are the credit union’s way of ensuring that everyone with a financial stake in the organization also shares a stake in the future of the community it serves. Credit unions are owned by its members and are not-for-profit cooperatives. Our ‘shareholders’ are the everyday Americans who do business with us, our members.
And our earnings? They belong to our members, and we put them right back to work for them to give them the best deals, from better rates to lower fees.
A lot of people are unsure if they can join but did you know that over 5,000 credit unions are available in the US with 99% of Americans being eligible to join?
For Family Trust – anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in York County can become a member. Easily join online or stop by a local branch to open your account today. We’re going places, and so are our 50,000 members.
Myth 2: “It’s Hard To Access My Money.”
The second myth is credit unions don’t provide all the same products, services, technologies and convenient access to their funds offered by other financial institutions. At Family Trust, we offer members a variety of modern online and offline services, allowing people to choose the banking experience that fits their needs. These include digital banking, checking and savings, loans, cards, investments and more.
